After my parents emigrated to South Africa from the UK, I grew up on a small holding. This introduced me to a multitude of different animals from cattle & horses to tortoises, cats & dogs. Being involved actively in the local SPCA from 15 yrs of age fuelled my passion for animals, particularly cats. I’ve gained hands on knowledge of working with feral cats, when I was employed as a Feral Cat Controller. I gained valuable hands on experience whilst working in a veterinary practise for a few years. Since returning to the UK in 2003, I’ve worked in a veterinary practice and qualified as a Veterinary Assistant in 2010. 

Honorary Life Member of the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in South Africa. I received a Diploma in Feline Behaviour and Psychology in April 2019. I look forward to caring for your Feline families. 

My name is Melman Happysib but I prefer to be known as Merlin.  I’m a Siberian cat and I’m the Head of Social Media for Cats Prefur Home.  I have everyone wrapped around my paw, I'm definitely the boss!

Thomas rescued moggy – We adopted Thomas as a 12 week old kitten from our local animal shelter in 2004. He unfortunately went over the Rainbow Bridge on the 2nd December 2017 at the age of 15.

Frazercoonz Tigger known as Sasha for short, rescued Maine Coon – Sasha was with us from 2005 to 2021. She was a gorgeous, talkative, affectionate but bossy lady, who knew what she wanted and just how to get it! She passed on the 14th March 2021 at age 15

This was our Charlotte, a cheeky but affectionate JackChi. Charlotte was our Head of Security, a position she’s held since May 2013. She's was our protector and had her paw firmly on the pulse of what's going on in the neighbourhood. Her favourite past times were running around the local field and sleeping on our bed.
